5th March 2012 – At Sea
After steaming up the coast overnight a check of
our position at around 9.30am put us about 20nm east of Woolli, just south of
Yamba. By noon we were off Tweed Heads.
The weather
is overcast , but mostly fine with a few scattered showers and a fresh breeze.
A couple of times it looked ominous, but nothing materialized.
Pacing the Promenade Deck
The
breakfast buffet was very good with plenty of healthy, and not so healthy,
options. We stuck with the healthy options.
After
breakfast we had a further look around the ship, and relaxed up on the pool
deck reading until lunch where we again opted for the convenience of the
buffet. Once again the food selections were very good with lots of fresh salads
available as well as the usual hot food options.
We headed
off to the movies after lunch to see “Midnight in Paris”, then a bit of a break
before heading off to the Wheelhouse Bar for a predinner drink, entertained by
the same group as last night, and the off to our 7.45pm dinner setting.
Our couple
from Melbourne has deserted us and moved to another table, so we are down to four just (us and the couple from Perth).
Tues 6th
March is another restful day at sea.
We did our
12 laps of the Promenade deck before breakfast and had a pretty lazy day. By
midday we were off Gladstone, steaming along at around 16-17 knots.
We spent
most of the day further exploring the ship, lazing around the pool reading our
books and eating and drinking.
